I painted the picture in 1988, when I came back from a hike and entomological expedition near Bratislava, where I was hunting beetles with a friend, and where I spent some nice time by the river. I was disappointed by the ruthlessness of people and by the look of the country, so I decided to materialize my feelings in this work, which bears a somewhat ironic name.
Into this picture I have incorporated, besides other things, a broken vinyl by Johann Strauss II, featuring a song of the same name that by its briskness emphasizes my feelings about this experience.
A good tip: what about thinking about human recklessness on long evenings with a glass of good wine, background music and looking at this picture? … Maybe then the world would be a better place to live
